Another inspiring edition of the Emergency Services Times with a fantastically well-articulated piece by Catherine Levin and hugely important insights from Toby Harris chair of the National Preparedness Commission Personally I am thrilled to see the continuation of dialogue across editions of the EST on the topic of UK strategic national resilience. We must build a more #ResilientNation and as recent articles point out unanimously and clearly, this must be pushed to the top of the priority list for all strategic leaders. This is all the more important when we reflect back to the point made by John Barradell in October's Edition, with his poignant and timely reminder - that every senior leader is ultimately responsible for resilience. I for one, think it is imperative that this conversation on UK strategic national resilience remains ongoing, and that we all take ownership and responsibility for ensuring our strategic leaders are getting the message. So please, I implore you all have a good read, share it, put a copy in your strategic leaders' in-trays and continue to communicate this upwards. Maybe then together, we can progress into this long overdue cultural shift and create the necessary step change required for building a more #ResilientNation Institute of Civil Protection & Emergency Management (ICPEM) Emergency Planning Society The EPS National Preparedness Commission #emergencymanagement #disasterriskreduction
