Liran, ICPEM's Vice-Chair, has over 15 years of experience in research and practice of emergency management and risk reduction, with an expertise in combining studies in extreme environments, policy crafting, product design and preparedness planning. Utilising innovative concepts for handling extreme events in space, his approach incorporated novel solutions to harness their positive potential for use on earth, using a multi-disciplinary approach to optimise results.
Liran holds a Master of Public Health specialising in Emergency and Disaster Management and is currently a doctoral student at University College London's Institute for Risk and Disaster Reduction, working on improving pandemic preparedness.
